The entry is dated 5 janvier 1944<\/em>.<\/p>\n

As in her entry of a year earlier<\/a>, she remarks that everyone is awaiting the Allied\u00a0landing (D-Day) and anticipating that it will happen in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

H\u00e9l\u00e8ne remarks that the Germans control all of the newspapers (Les Boches contr\u00f4lent tous les journaux<\/em>) which report all kinds of rubbish: that Germany is\u00a0winning on all fronts, etc.<\/p>\n
